How we build the laser engraver datasets
Our machine and rotary datasets are built from current manufacturer product pages, support documents and manuals. They are designed to make machine architecture and compatibility easier to compare without pretending that every specification is directly comparable across laser-source families.
What we record
- Machine and brand
- Laser-source family and listed optical power
- Standard working dimensions
- Manufacturer-listed speed when a reasonably comparable figure is published
- Expansion options
- Rotary support when current manufacturer documentation supports it
- Whether the listed configuration includes IR/fiber capability for direct bare-metal marking
- Enclosure and portability flags
- Primary source URL and last-verification date
What we deliberately do not do
We do not convert manufacturer claims into fake hands-on test results. We also do not treat wattage across diode, CO₂, IR and fiber lasers as one universal performance scale. Material interaction, optics, motion system, enclosure, air assist, software and job geometry can matter as much as headline power.
Source hierarchy
We prefer, in order: manufacturer support/manual documentation, current official product pages, current official comparison pages, then current official accessory pages. If manufacturer pages conflict, we use the most current product/support page and note uncertainty rather than silently choosing a convenient value.
Update policy
Rows include a last verified date. Product revisions, accessory compatibility and dimensions can change, so users should open the linked manufacturer source before purchasing when a specification is critical to fit or safety.
